ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the intra-court appeals against nullification of the NAB amendments for an indefinite period.

The PTI founder attended the hearing through the video link.

Hearing the case, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the parliament should be closed if the government wants to promulgate the ordinances only. "The will of a single person is imposed on the nation through the ordinances. Is this act not against democracy?" he questioned.

Justice Athar Minallah observed that the law and the constitution empowers the parliament for legislation. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel observed that suspension of the bill does not amount to suspension of the proceedings of the parliament.

The CJP remarked that why they should not suspend the parliament. "For how long we will continue to befool ourselves?"

Counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan contended that the PTI founder could change the law as he was the prime minister at that time. "But he (the PTI founder) introduced the ordinance. The NAB amendments were a parliamentary dispute, which was brought to the SC," he added.

The CJP ruled that they would question the PTI founder about these points, ordering to note the points down.
