KARACHI (92 News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a heatwave in the city starting today (Tuesday) and last till May 8 (Friday), with the mercury expected to rise up to 41 degrees Celsius. According to the details, the PMD forecasted a heatwave in Karachi starting from today (Tuesday) and last till May 8 (Friday). It added that the temperature is expected to go up to 41 degrees Celsius during the coming days due to change in weather conditions that will suspend the sea breeze towards the port city. The maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 39.5 degrees Celsius. Met officials said that the intensity of the heat was felt more than the actual temperature due to the reduction in the wind speed blowing from the sea. Meanwhile, the Sindh government has imposed an emergency in all hospitals across the province, keeping in view the heatwave and a thunderstorm alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
