Heavy rain inundates low-lying areas in Lahore, other cities

LAHORE (92 News) – Heavy rain inundated low-lying areas in different cities, including Lahore, on Friday.

Rain water accumulated Thokar Niaz Baig, Sher Shah Colony, Walton, Lakashmi Chowk, Sadr, China Scheme, Chah Miran and Shad Bagh. The rain brought a respite from the sweltering heat.

With the start of the rain, the power supply was to several areas was suspended after over 130 feeders tripped. In Lahore, seven people were injured when the wall of a house collapsed in Thokar Niaz Baig.

During his visit to low-lying areas, MD WASA Syed Zahid Aziz said that up to 50mm rain was recorded. He also inspected disposal stations.
