KARACHI (92 News) – Four more people were killed and several others injured in rain-related incidents in Karachi on Wednesday. Four more people have died in rain-related accidents, including electrocution and ceiling collapse during the current monsoon rains. Heavy rain, coupled with stormy winds, again hit the city, leading to panic on the roads, power outages, and destroyed electricity poles. Numerous areas were blocked off due to massive traffic jams, whereas many commuters were stranded as their vehicles broke down midway. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that it is likely that rain will continue on Wednesday (today) as well. Hundreds of feeders tripped, plunging a large number of localities in the metropolis into darkness. There were also complaints of broken electricity wires. The K-Electric, advised locals to stay away from electric poles, PMTs, and broken electric wires, while also informing that repair work is underway. Heavy rains which lashed Karachi caused havoc in the low lying areas as water gushed into the houses besides inundating the streets causing huge trouble for the residents.
