ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Heavy rain in parts of the Punjab including Lahore has turned weather pleasant and inundated low-lying areas causing severe problems for the locals.
The twin cities and adjoining areas received a heavy rain with intervals on Friday, increasing the threat of flood in nullahs. Heavy rain was also reported in parts of Punjab including Lahore.
The downpour has caused rise in Rawalpindi’s Lai Nullah water level up to nine feet and water of nullah gushed into the houses besides inundating the streets causing huge trouble for the residents after the new spell of rains in the country.
Cancelling the holidays of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials, the authorities have set off alarm bells.
Lahore, Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir also received rain which turned the weather pleasant while breaking the intensity of heat.
Heavy downpour inundated roads and streets in different areas in the provincial capital Lahore and commuters faced immense difficulties while trying to carry on with their routines.
Rain with isolated heavy falls accompanied by gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions, FATA and Kashmir during the next twelve hours.
Rain is also likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Bannu, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions.
