Former COAS General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani denies interview

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani has denied that he had given an interview to a Saudi newspaper.

This was disclosed by senior analyst Saleem Safi in an interview with 92 News.

In the alleged interview, he was quoted as saying that the operation could not be launched during his tenure as terrorists could spread across the country. “In the wake of the operation, the terrorists could be a threat at the national level.”

Lt-Gen (retd) Ijaz Awan said that former COAS could not give such interview.
