High-level Meeting in connection with security arrangements during Muharram held in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – A high-level meeting of law-enforcement agencies and religious leaders was held in connection with the security arrangements during Muharram in Karachi’s District East in the wee hours of Thursday. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Javaid Jaskani, Wing Commander Rangers Colonel Sikander, Religious leader Shabbir Raza, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gulshan Hassan Sardar Niazi and others attended the meeting. The participants of the meeting decided the controversial wall-chalking, banners and billboards to be removed, while Soldier Bazar and suburban areas would be under strict observation of police. The Station House Officers (SHOs) of different police stations will be in contact with each other and police will monitor the procession with CCTV cameras. Walk-through gates will be installed on the way of the procession, while the bomb disposal squad will be on high alert.
