March 7, 2018
LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday summoned a reply from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on a petition pertaining to the horse-trading in the Senate elections till April 2. LHC judge Justice Shahid Kareem heard the petition filed former Secretary Kanwar Dilshad. The petitioner stated that the ECP had taken notice of the allegations of hoarse-trading in the Senate elections. The petitioner further stated that it was the failure of the ECP in stopping the hoarse-trading, while the opposition parties will present evidence to the ECP in this regard. The petitioner prayed the court to declare the Senate elections 2018 null and void. The court later ordered the ECP to submit reply till April 2 and adjourned the hearing.
