KARACHI (92 News) – Various parts of the country continued to experience an intense wave of heat on Sunday, with the mercury hitting the 46 degree Celsius mark.

The temperature recorded today in different parts of the country was 46C. The temperature in Karachi was recorded at 33C.

According to the met office, the current intense heat wave will continue to prevail across the country for the next two days, while the fresh weather system carrying rain and thunderstorm will enter Pakistan on Tuesday, and it will bring respite from the sizzling heat.

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours. However, very hot weather is likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, upper Sindh and its adjoining areas.

Apart from the sweltering weather, loadshedding also increased in the various parts of the country while affecting the water availability.

The worst heat wave to hit Karachi for killed many last year. The problem was compounded by power cuts which left people unable to cool themselves with fans and air conditioners, particularly affecting those unable to afford generators.
