SC rejects NAB plea to adjourn Hudaibiya Paper Mills case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) request to adjourn proceedings of the Hudaibiya Paper Mills till a new prosecutor general is appointed. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Mushir Alam and comprising of Justice Qazi Faiz Esa and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel heard the case. The court clarified that the NAB cannot pursue the income tax case. Justice Mushir Alam remarked that why Nawaz Sharif was not arrested if he went abroad of her own will. NAB Deputy Chairman Imtiaz Tajwar also appeared in court and said that documents containing details of Nawaz Sharif’s departure abroad and public designation had been submitted to court as per orders. He told court that the SC had observed that Panama and Hudaibya cases are interlinked. The court also banned discussing the Hudaibya case in Live TV programs and ordered the PEMRA to ensure the implementation of the order. The case has been adjourned until December 12.
