Hudabiya Papers Mills case: Nawaz prevented NAB from filing appeal, SC told

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has on Wednesday declared former prime minister Nawaz Sharif responsible for preventing the anti-graft watchdog from filing appeal in the Supreme Court in Hudabiya Papers Mills case. According to NAB officials, Nawaz Sharif influenced the Hudabiya Papers Mills case as a prime minister. The anti-graft watchdog appealed the apex court to expose the facts. The country's anti-graft watchdog had submitted an appeal in the apex court to reopen the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case in light of the fresh evidence disclosed in the JIT report. The NAB urged the Supreme Court to reject Lahore High Court’s decision from March 2014 so as to facilitate further investigation of the scandal. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned hearing of plea of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking reopening of the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case against the Sharif family till December 11. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mushir Alam heard the case in Islamabad on Tuesday. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented volume-8 of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) before the top court. The court ordered to present complete details of the reference and the proceedings and orders of NAB court of the same case.
