Hundreds of tourists trapped as landslide blocks several roads in Skardu

SKARDU (92 News) – Hundreds of tourists were trapped in Skardu due to blockage of roads after landslide incidents at different places on Tuesday. A six-member team of foreign mountaineers climbing up Broad Peak was trapped in the avalanche. Three tourists belong to America. Two each are British and Indian national while one is a Japanese. The injured Pakistani mountaineer Samina Baig is also in the base camp. According to reports, a mountaineer is missing while others are waiting to be rescued. Meanwhile, a lake made of a glacier broke at Shagar Wazirpur. The lake water entered the residential areas and destroyed several areas. The local administration has sought the help of Pak Army.
