ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Funeral in absentia of pro-freedom leader Syed Ali Gilani was held in the lawn of the parliament on Thursday.

President Dr Arif Alvi, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood and AJK Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Federal Minister Shehryar Afridi and several parliamentarians attended the funeral.

Talking to the media after the funeral, President Dr Arif Alvi said that the dream of Syed Ali Gilani was freedom of Kashmir, which will be fulfilled soon. "Promises made by the international community with Kashmiri people have not been fulfilled. The Kashmiri people are facing the worst Indian oppression," he said.

He said that the Modi government is stoking fire within India through its oppressive tactics against minorities.

AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood said that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir want to become part of Pakistan. "The world should take notice of the situation in IIOJK," he maintained.
