LAHORE (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed has said that he considers former president Pervez Musharraf a patriotic Pakistani, not a traitor. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that corrupt politicians while sitting abroad issue statements against the army chief who served the country for 40 years. “I was with Pervez Musharraf and issued the statement in his favour. I still stand with my statement,” he said. Earlier Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed has said that the entire problem has been solved and the judiciary had acted sagaciously. Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the court ignored mistakes and shortcomings of the government. “The issue of the service tenure of Army Chief will be solved within six weeks, not six months,” he said. National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar said that the parliament would fulfill its responsibility with regard to the appointment of the Army Chief. “We will peruse the SC verdict regarding appointment and extension of the COAS. We will contact all parties.” He said that the parliament will fulfill its responsibility with regard to the Army Chief. “Necessary legislation will be made with regard to the appointment of the Army Chief. We will try to resolve the legal issue,” he added. Kashmir Committee Chairman Fakhar Imam said that the court verdict would provide guidance. “The court announced the verdict with utmost responsibility and the parliament will also fulfill its responsibility,” he said. On Wednesday, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed had said that courts do not want any kind of clash. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had made sagacious decisions keeping in view the situation in the country. "The courts, however, want that a law should be formed with regard to the appointment of the Army Chief," he added.
