I think Biden is very busy, PK-US ties not dependent on phone call: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Afghan Taliban want to be accepted by the international community.

In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, he said that situation in Afghanistan is very disappointing. "No one will predict what will happen in Afghanistan. The steps taken by the Taliban so far show that they want to be accepted by the international community," he maintained.

PM Imran Khan said that the Afghan women are powerful and they themselves will get their rights. "Taliban cannot be controlled from outside. They need help to run the affairs. After 9/11, Pakistan needed help in Afghanistan. Thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives in terrorism in the country," he added.

He said that the issue of Afghan refugees is very important. "I think US President Joe Biden is very busy. The Pak-US relations are not dependent on a phone call," he maintained.

The prime minister said that the US should have settle the issue with the Taliban during his presence in Afghanistan.
