ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said on Thursday that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will give its judgment in Kulbhushan Jadhav case on the 17th of this month.
At his weekly news briefing, the FO said, "We cannot prejudge the judgment but said Pakistan fully contested the case before the ICJ."
Pakistan, India to discuss Kartarpur Corridor on Sunday
He also said that Pakistan and India will hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss the draft agreement for finalizing the modalities of Kartarpur Corridor.
Dr Muhammad Faisal said that the Indian delegation would come to Pakistan for the talks to be held at Wagah.
Pakistan welcomes 2nd report of UNHC for Human Rights
Referring to the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, the foreign office spokesperson said that Pakistan has welcomed the second report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights which has once again recognized the grave human rights violations in Indian-held Jammu Kashmir (IHK).
“We also welcome the UNHC for Human Rights demand for sending a fact finding mission to the occupied territory,” he said.
Pakistan happy over progress in Afghan peace process
To a question about Doha talks, Dr Muhammad Faisal said Pakistan is happy over the progress in the Afghan peace process. He said Pakistan’s facilitative role in talks has been acknowledged and appreciated.
“We believe in an Afghan led and Afghan owned solution of Afghan conflict,” he said. He said Pakistan will continue to support international efforts aimed at bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan.
PM to visit US on July 21
The FO spokesperson said Prime Minister Imran Khan is paying a three day visit to the United States from 21st of this month. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan and the US President Donald Trump will have wide ranging interaction at the White House on 22nd July covering bilateral and regional matters.
He said the visit will help renew and reinvigorate long standing ties between Pakistan and the United States. He said it will contribute towards building a broad based, long term and enduring partnership between the two countries on the basis of mutual interest and mutual benefit.
Iran nuclear deal
When asked about the Iran nuclear deal, the spokesperson hoped that all the parties to the agreement will be able to take effective measures to ensure its full compliance and resolve all outstanding issues through negotiations.
Dr Faisal said Pakistan is fully implementing the
UN Security Council sanctions related to North Korea. He categorically stated that no work visa has been issued to any of North Korea’s national.
