ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka rejected the applications of the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi for suspension of their sentence in the Iddat case.

The court announced the reserved verdict. After the verdict, the PTI and his wife Bushra Bibi will remain in jail.

In the 10-page verdict, the court ruled that there was no ground for acceptance of the applications. “Therefore, the applications are rejected under Section 426 of the CRPC. Bushra Bibi being a woman has no justification for the suspension of her sentence. Hence applications are rejected,” it ruled.

On February 3, the civil court had awarded the PTI founder and his wife seven-year imprisonment each.
