Identification process of dead bodies of Havelian plane crash underway: PIMS administrator

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administrator Dr Altaf said that the identification process of dead bodies of plane crash is underway in the hospital with the help of DNA test. “Forty five dead bodies were brought to PIMS hospital out of which 9 have been identified. The dead bodies which have been identified would be handed over to the heirs,” he said. The bodies are identified through fingers and other identification marks but unfortunately, all of the faces were burnt in the plane crash, he further said, and added that the DNA tests are being done on the received dead bodies. A couple of dead bodies were identified through Nadra biometric system, he said. “We hope to complete the process of identification and handing the dead bodies over to their families by December 17. We are trying to complete the process as soon as possible,” he added. Quran recitation was also held at the hospital for the unfortunate passengers of PIA flight PK-661 that crashed in Havelian on December 7.
