If speaking about Constitution is treachery then whole Pakistan is traitor: Maryam

SHEIKHUPURA (92 News) - PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said that if speaking about supremacy of the Constitution is treachery, then whole Pakistan is traitor.

Maryam Nawaz made the remarks after meeting with the family of Javed Latif in Sheikhupura. Addressing to the party supporters outside the arrested PML-N leader Javed Latif, she said that by labelling Latif a traitor, the government had, in fact, labelled the people of Sheikhupura traitors.

"If being declared a traitor is a crime, then the first person to have been declared one was Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah. Even her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was declared a traitor and so had she herself been labelled one," she maintained.

"If calling what is right, 'right', what is true, 'true', if speaking of the supremacy of the Constitution and institutions, and of standing by the law, is traitorous, then we will do this treachery again and again," Maryam said.

"But I will say this, times have changed. People have stopped being afraid. Those who put Kashmir in the swing of India are the real traitors," she added.

The PML-N vice president further said that those who violate the constitution and attack the parliament are the real traitors.
