ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), former finance minister Asad Umar has said that if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is incompetent then the PPP was the most incompetent. Addressing the National Assembly session for the first time after being removed as finance minister, Asad Umar lashed out at the PPP, saying that they had changed four ‘expert’ finance ministers during their tenure. He added that that the tenure of PPP’s from 2008 to 2013 was the worst economic period. “Bilawal Sb, during your government four finance ministers were changed. One by one, all four brave finance ministers kept failing," Umar said while responding to the PPP chairman's criticism of the cabinet reshuffle. In response to Bilawal saying that the PTI government is incapable, the former finance minister asked, “Bilawal Sb was your father’s government the most incompetent and incapable?” “I never called the PPP chairman a traitor. He alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) killed the economy. The government is incapable and a failure so I thought I should raise the curtain and unveil the truth behind the allegations,” the PTI stalwart mentioned. Asad Umar said that not the shrieks of people can be heard because the crackdown against the looted wealth of exchequer is being done. “Today the accountability is being done of the corruption that was done during your term,” he asked. The former finance minister explained that there is no easy solution to extract country from economic crisis. Difficult decisions have been made and will need to be made in the future as well.
