IG Punjab refuses to work with newly-appointed Lahore CCPO

LAHORE (92 News) - The conflict between Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastgir and Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO) umar Sheikh more escalated as the matter has landed in the office of the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The IG Punjab took the matter to CM Bazdar and registered the piles of complaint against him. The chief minister directed Shoaib Dastgir to cooperate with Lahore CCPO. the sources said that Shoaib Dastgir has refused to work with Umar Sheikh, and has asked the chief minister to transfer him to a suitable location. According to sources, CM Buzdar has been trying to resolve the conflict between the two officers. He has directed the IG Punjab to work collectively with the CCPO. It was also reported that the differences between IG and the CCPO remain unresolved even after a meeting with the Punjab chief minister. On the other hand, five and a half months left till the retirement of IG Punjab, the centre has also started considering names for the post of new IG Punjab. According to sources, the names of AD Khawaja, Syed Kaleem Imam, Inam Ghani and Mohsin Butt are under consideration for the new inspector general of police.
