ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the plea for suspension of the sentence of the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana case until August 24.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri heard the plea. However, the court rejected the request to suspend the sentence immediately.

Sardar Latif Khosa advocate, the counsel for the PTI chairman, contended that the sessions court had no power to hear the case. "The court awarded sentence to the PTI chairman in his absence. The PTI chairman wants no leniency and he is just demanding his right," he argued.

Amjad Pervaiz, counsel for the Election Commission of Pakistan, sought two-week time to prepare the case.
