ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday decided to frame charges against all accused in the affidavit case of Gilgit Baltistan former chief judge Rana Shamim.

The court has summoned all accused on January 7.

Hearing the case, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the affidavit had made all judges suspicious. "It is the case of the accountability of IHC judges. I had not started the proceedings had I not trust in my judges," he observed.

Meanwhile, Rana Shamim attested his affidavit in court. Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan submitted an application for getting an attested copy of the affidavit.

To a question put by a journalist outside court, Rana Shamim said that he was alone when he recorded the statement. "You should ask the question from the person who is saying I had recorded the affidavit while sitting besides Nawaz Sharif," he maintained.

Latif Afridi, counsel for Rana Shamim, said that his client had accepted his affidavit. "A lot of matters will surface when the case will be tried. Some big names can be mentioned in the witnesses," he added.

He also objected to the repeated visits of the attorney general.
