IHC grants protective bail to Nawaz Sharif until Oct 24, orders not to arrest him on his return

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted protective bail to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif until October 24, ordering the authorities not to arrest him on his return on October 21.

The two member bench comprising of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Gull Hassan Khan granted the bail in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield references.

During the hearing, the NAB did not object to the bail of Nawaz Sharif. The court sough the written reply from the NAB in this regard.

In the Toshakhana case, the accountability court suspended the perpetual warrants of Nawaz Sharif and ordered him to appear in court on October 24.

During the hearing, the counsel assured the court that Nawaz Sharif would surrender on October 21. The NAB also supported the suspension of the permanent arrest warrants of Nawaz Sharif.

PML-N Quaid has been in exile in London on medical grounds for four years. He remained the prime minister for three times. In 2017, he was ousted after being convicted in a corruption case.
