IHC issues notices to respondents over removal of Zulfi's name from ECL

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notices to respondents in a petition moved seeking court’s directions to investigate removal of Zulfi Bukhari’s name from the Exit Control List. A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq conducted hearing of the petition. During the hearing, the justice remarked that the court should be informed in written form about the law of black list. The Justice asked that how Zulfi was allowed to go for foreign country in spite of black listed without permission of National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He also asked that Is this opportunity available for everyone. Justice Farooq directed the secretaries of defence and interior and the FIA director general to submit their written reply on the next hearing. The hearing of the case adjourned till June 27. After the hearing talking to the journalists, Zulfi said that he and Imran had not telephoned anyone to removal of his name from the ECL. He also claimed that he did not know why his name was included in the black list. He further said that he was allowed to go foreign country as per law of the Ministry of Interior.
