ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday nullified the October 29 notification issued by the Law Ministry regarding trial of the cipher case in jail.

The PTI chairman had filed an intra-court appeal against the trial of the cipher case in jail and appointment of the judge.

The court ruled that the notification issued by the Law Ministry on November 15 will not be applied to the past. However, the court declared the appointment of the judge legal.

Earlier, the court had reserved the verdict after the completion of the arguments.

During the hearing, the court questioned whether there was an example regarding the mode of using the section 352. In support of his arguments, Salman Akram Raja presented the judgment of the single bench.

The attorney general contended that the jail trial was not an in-camera trial, but an open trial.
