IHC orders to release newspaper advertisement for summoning Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC), while hearing NAB appeals in the Al-Azizia reference, ordered to release the newspaper advertisement for summoning PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif.

A two-member bench comprising of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani ordered the federal government to submit the expenditures of the newspaper advertisement within two days. It ruled that the accused would be declared a proclaimed offender if he did not appear in court 30 days after the publication of advertisement.

Meanwhile, the court recoded the statements of three witnesses, including Pakistan High Commission in London First Secretary Dildar Ali Abro and Consular Rao Abdul Hanan who also submitted their written replies separately.

Dildar Ali Abro told court that Waqar Ahmed, secretary of Nawaz Sharif's son, had asked him to receive the warrants on phone, but he later refused to receive them.

Rao Abdul Hanan stated that he had visited the residence of Nawaz Sharif whose personal servant Muhammad Yaqoob refused to receive the warrants.

The NAB appealed to court to order release of the newspaper advertisement for summoning Nawaz Sharif.
