ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday sought a reply from the federal government regarding a petition about the possible military trial of former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan next Monday.
“The PTI founder is a civilian, and the military trial of a civilian is a cause of concern not only for the petitioner but also for the court,”Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked while hearing Imran Khan’s petition against his possible military trial.

“The petitioner has also quoted federal ministers as saying that he will be tried in a military court,” the IHC judge said and added the DG ISPR had also issued a statement in that regard.
“The government should clarify its position on the subject; whether the matter is under consideration or not,” he stated and added that the court would take up the case if the government had such a plan or the petition would become ineffective otherwise.
The court then adjourned the hearing until September 16.
