IHC seeks reply from parties in plea for Nawaz Sharif’s release on medical grounds

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought a reply from both parties in the plea for the release of former premier Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds. The plea was filed by PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif. The court has also summoned the Services Hospital medical superintendent. The counsel told court that doctors could not diagnose the disease of Nawaz Sharif. He prayed to the court to accept the bail plea. He also requested the court to allow Nawaz Sharif’s treatment abroad if doctors advise so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x7ODNqJnTs Pakistan Muslim League President Shehbaz Sharif filed a petition in the IHC seeking suspension of the seven-year sentence awarded to Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference and his release on bail for getting medical treatment either in Pakistan or abroad. In his petition, Shehbaz Sharif has pleaded with the court to release his elder brother so he could acquire proper medical treatment. He has said that Nawaz’s health was very poor. He is in great distress due to various diseases and therefore he should be allowed treatment in Pakistan or abroad. Earlier, the Registrar Office in Islamabad raised an objection on the petition, terming that Shehbaz Sharif is not concerned party in this case. Prof Ayaz Mahmood said that the condition of Nawaz Sharif is well. Earlier, Nawaz Sharif’s health condition improved after the number of platelets increased to 30,000. Nawaz Sharif’s condition is improving rapidly his health was stable after he was transfused fourth mega unit of platelets. It was reported that former premier’s platelets had not decreased owing to mosquito-borne diseases but of the medicines which makes blood thin. The doctors apprised the ousted prime minister that the drugs were very harmful for him. A six-member doctors’ team have been deputed to provide him the best healthcare facilities round the clock. Earlier in the day, Punjab’s Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid had said that the former premier was being provided the best medical facilities at Services Hospital. She had visited Services Institutes of Medical Sciences where she was briefed about the latest condition of the former premier. Yasmin Rashid said that the government would not object to Nawaz Sharif’s treatment, if need be, abroad. She said that she had not done politics on the disease of any person. “I am a doctor first and then politician. My sympathies are with Nawaz Sharif who has expressed satisfaction over the treatment facilities,” she said.
