ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has stopped PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi from performing duties as Special Assisstant to the Prime Minister (SAPM).

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah conducted hearing of the plea filed by former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed. Chief Justice rejected plea of counsel of Hanif Abbasi. He remarked that the convicted person is not eligible to hold public office. “The job of special assistant is to provide consulation to the prime minister which can be done without notification. Hoping that Hanif Abbasi will not hold office till next hearing,” he added.

Meanwhile, talking to media after hearing Sheikh Rasheed said that slogans of thieves and traitors are being echoed across country. “Nawaz Sharif used to demand for new elections. Now, why he does not come back to conduct election?” he questioned.

He said that the government is changing the people of FIA and appointing his own favorites. “The cases are being withdrawn from the courts across country,” he concluded.
