IHC to hear appeals of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz against conviction on April 28

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the appeals of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz against their conviction in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield references.

A two-member bench comprising of Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar will hear the appeals.

Moreover, the court will also hear the NAB appeal against the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif in the Flagship reference. All the appeals have been united to fix them for the hearing.

In the Avenfield reference, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar were convicted. Nawaz Sharif had challenged his conviction in the Al-Azizia reference.

The NAB had filed the appeal against acquittal of Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference case. Meanwhile, the NAB has also filed another appeal to increase the sentence of Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Aziziz reference.
