Illegal appointments: Dow University’s 69 employees removed
March 28, 2017

KARACHI (92 News) – After the suspension of former Dow University Vice Chancellor Dr Masood Hameed, the new university administration has removed at least 69 illegally appointed employees, including Hameed’s wife, on the orders of Supreme Court.

Hameed, who was the right hand of former Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad, remained the VC of the university for 14 years illegally without any notification.

Hameed had also made illegal appointments of his relatives and wife at higher positions. These officials kept getting salaries worth crores of rupees for years along with other allowances.

The Supreme Court finally ordered to remove these retired officials from higher posts. The CM and Sindh House also asked for Masood’s answer but the VC kept dodging them.

Hameed was removed as VC in March, 2017 and the new administration, following the Supreme Court’s order, immediately terminated 69 officials appointed illegally.

Those sent home include Raana Qamar Masood, the varsity’s examination head, assistant controller, admissions director, QEC director, medicine director, adviser, billing officer, account officers, administrative officer, medical officer, senior medical officer, admission additional director, professors, lecturers among others.
