Illegal land allotment: Mustafa Kamal files pre-arrest bail plea

KARACHI (92 News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal filed a pre-arrest bail petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) over illegal land allotment case on Friday. According to details, Mustafa Kamal also took precautionary step after fear of arrest and arrived at the SHC. He submitted his bail plea to avoid arrest by National Accountability Bureau (NAB). In his plea, he adopted a stance that he has not association with the allotment of related land mentioned in case against him. “The NAB reference is baseless and ready to face the allegations leveled against him,” the petition read. Earlier, an accountability court approved a reference for hearing against PSP chief Mustafa Kamal in the illegal land allotment case. The court has issued notices to then Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal, Bahria Town’s Zain Malik, Hasnain Mirza, Fazlur Rahman, Mumtaz Haider, Nazir Zardari, Muhammad Dawood, Muhammad Yaqoob, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Rafique and others. As many as 11 accused have been nominated in the reference. According to the reference, the land was allocated for 198 hawkers in Clifton Block 3 in 1980, but the land was allotted to DJ Builders in 2005-2006. DJ Builders shifted the land to Bahria Town in 2014. Moreover, permission was granted to construct a 17-storey building on the said land. The value of the land was shown Rs 260 million, but its real value was over Rs2.5 billion.
