IMF agrees to give relief to power consumers up to 200 units

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to provide relief to power consumers up to 200 units.

Sources revealed that the IMF has allowed to give the temporary relief to consumers of 200 units by receiving their bills in installments. However, the federal government will give the final approval in this regard.

The move will give the temporary relief to four million consumers.

Meanwhile, the IMF has asked the government to initiate a crackdown against power and gas thieves besides improving the recovery system. The IMF has also asked the government to increase the gas tariff by 45 and 50 percent.
