IMF approves package for Pakistan: sources

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a package for Pakistan, said sources in the Finance Ministry.

They said that announcement regarding approval of the package can be announced at any time from Washington.

After the approval of the package, Pakistan is likely to get a tranche of US$1.20 billion.

It is expected that the country would get two tranches after the approval of the IMF Board.

The sources said that the talks on the IMF conditions and other points were agreed during the Eidul Azha. After getting the IMF programme, Pakistan will start getting withheld financing from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other donors.
