Imran, Jahangir Disqualification Case: ECP adjourns hearing till Dec 26

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Thursday adjourned hearing of the disqualification case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and PTI leader Jahangir Tareen till December 26. A five-member bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Mohammad Raza resumed the hearing of the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and PTI leader Jahangir Tareen. The applicants Talal Chaudhry and Muhammad Khan Daha had plead the commission for appointment of Akram Shaikh as their new lawyer and sought more time from the commission, to which the lawyer of Jahangir Tareen objected, saying that the lawyer could not be changed after the bench has reserved its decision. Talking to media outside the ECP, Talal Chaudhry said that they haven’t changed the lawyer but added another lawyer in the panel. The ECP adjourned the hearing till December 26, while the hearing of the disqualification case against Captain (r) Safdar was adjourned till December 19.
