ISLAMABAD (92News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has given a clear message to the party leaders and workers during a conversation with the media in Adiala Jail that if the rally is not allowed to be held, they should protest strongly at Minar-e-Pakistan.

The PTI founder said, “We are not being allowed to hold a meeting in Lahore for one and a half years. Destroying democracy means destroying freedom. It is our constitutional right to hold a rally.”

He added, “In order to save the Supreme Court, democracy, and freedom, there will be a meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan in any case. The meeting was not allowed even before the election and is still being prevented.”

Regarding the Islamabad rally, Imran Khan said the PTI was given a guarantee to hold the Islamabad rally, adding: “Despite the guarantee, containers were placed and barriers were erected for the workers coming to the rally.”

While criticising the administration, Imran Khan said, "Has anyone in the world ever given time to finish the meeting? We were deceived about the Islamabad rally.”

Criticising PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif, and the coalition government, Imran Khan said, “This is the first government in the history of the country that has been exposed so badly. They are destroying democracy. Even during the martial law period of Musharraf, it was not like what is being done now in the PML-N government.”

On the election held in the country, Imran Khan said that Musharraf's election was free and fair compared to the 2024 election, adding Musharraf also did not ban the media and meetings.

He further said, “What the Rawalpindi commissioner said after the elections was proved to be true. There should have been an investigation into the commissioner's statement.”

Regarding constitutional amendments, Imran Khan said that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is a direct beneficiary of constitutional amendments. “He wants an extension.”

Talking about the current situation in the country, Imran Khan said: “Today, a line has been drawn. On one side of the line, there are those who respect democracy and vote. On the other side, there are those who respect undemocratic forces.”
