ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has today (Wednesday) summoned an important meeting of the party leadership in Bani Gala. During the meeting, matters relating to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s appearance in the accountability court and his press conference will come under discussion. The meeting will also discuss Nawaz Sharif’s anti-judiciary speech, country’s political situation and indictment of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar by the accountability court. Sources privy to party said that Imran Khan would be the candidate for the leader of opposition in National Assembly, while consultations are underway with other political parties for numerical majority. On the other hand, the PTI chairman has on also summoned party leader Nauman Wazir and Brigadier (r) Kenneth Williams for explanation regarding their absence during the voting for Election Bill 2017, which allows any person ineligible to hold office as an MNA to serve as an office-bearer of a political party. The PTI had issued show-cause notices to the party’s senators for their absence from the Senate session which passed the key election bill. The notices were issued to Senator Brig (R) John Kenneth Willams and Nauman Wazir Khattak and summoned explanation from them in seven days.
