Imran Khan fined Rs5,000 for seeking adjournment in Khawaja Asif defamation case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - A court in Islamabad has again fined PTI Chairman Imran Khan an amount of Rs5,000 for seeking adjournment in Rs10 billion defamation case filed against Khawaja Asif.

Additional Sessions Judge Adnan Khan heard the case. During the hearing, Imran Khan’s counsel told the court that the main lawyer was also not available as he was out of the country. “My client could not appear in court due to his engagement in another meeting.”

At this, the judge accepted Imran Khan’s adjournment application with Rs5,000 fine. The judge also deferred the cross-examination by Khawaja Asif’s lawyers on Imran Khan’s statement until October 22. The next date of hearing also fixed of October 22 after consultation with the lawyers of both Imran Khan and Khawaja Asif.

Imran Khan had also been fined Rs5,000 during the last hearing of the case.
