Imran Khan lashes out at Altaf Hussain
February 20, 2015
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – While severely criticising Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan stated that his party will not become part of any forum where the MQM will be present, 92 News reported on Monday. During a press conference in Islamabad, the PTI chief said that the responsibility to disband political militias, when we speak of terrorism ruining the country, lies with the government. PTI will not sit in any All Parties Conference (APC) anymore. Nation should stand against all kinds of terrorism including political militias, he said. Imran Khan said: "The way people were killed in Baldia town for extortion money, the most poorest of people, this is as painful as APS.” The Pakistani nation must stand behind Baldia town, where the most downtrodden died, he added. Criticising the MQM, Khan said: “They get their own people killed, and then say that they are being victimized. This is pure hypocrisy.” “It is time for the government to take action on all kinds of violence and get justice for Baldia town too, for the 258 people killed,” he said. He was referring to a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report that blamed MQM for the September 2012 factory inferno that claimed more than 250 lives. Khan lamented that not everyone who is in MQM is a killer, but there are many militant elements in the party. MQM must disband these militant elements within it. It is time to end politics of terror. The mastermind is the one who takes the extortion money; extortion money goes to England, Khan added. The PTI chairman said that the government is fully empowered to take action now. All kinds of terrorism cases must go to military courts. Baldia Town tragedy is the biggest case. Nation should stand united against the terrorism, Imran Khan said.
