Imran Khan launches tree plantation campaign

HARIPUR (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan officially launched the ‘Billion Tree Tsunami’ campaign after planting the first tree sapling in Sangara area on Saturday. Talking to media, Imran said that one billion trees will be planted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Imran vowed that very strict action will be taken against people of ‘timber mafia’ and heavy fines will be placed. The PTI chief said, “We need to leave a better Pakistan for our future generations and the campaign to save our forests begins from KPK.” He lamented that only 4% of Pakistan is covered by forests whereas this number should be at 30%.
