Imran Khan moves IHC against disqualification by ECP in Toshakhana reference

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Imran Khan has moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against disqualification by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Toshakhana reference.

As per details, Barrister Ali Zafar filed an application in the Islamabad High Court on behalf of Imran Khan. In the application, the decision of the Election Commission has been requested to be annulled.

On the other hand, several objections were raised by the Registrar's Office on Imran Khan's request. In the objection from the registrar, it was said that the certified copy of Imran Khan's disqualification decision was not attached with the application. Imran Khan did not get biometric verification.

Earlier, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had disqualified PTI chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference. The four-member bench of the ECP had ruled that Imran Khan has been found guilty of corrupt practices and he has been disqualified under 62(1)(f). It observed that Imran Khan had submitted a false affidavit.

The constituency of Imran Khan had been declared illegal. According to the verdict, the ECP had ordered legal action against Imran Khan for submitting false vouchers.
