ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to appoint Imran Ismail as the Sindh governor. Prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan has given the formal approval in this regard. Talking to the media, Sindh governor-designate Imran Ismail said that Imran Khan had entrusted him with big responsibility. “I will take all parties along with me. The opposition will field its candidates for the slots of speaker and deputy speaker,” he said. He said that the PTI is consulting the GDA and other parties for other nominations. Imran Ismail announced to reduce the expenditures of the Governor’s House. Currently, the post of Sindh governor lies vacant following the resignation by Mohammad Zubair. Ismail, who is considered a close affiliate of Imran, had also won the elections in Sindh Assembly constituency PS-111 Karachi. The MPA-elect will have to give up his Sindh Assembly membership for the coveted post. The PTI, which secured 116 general seats in the National Assembly in the July 25 polls, is all set to form a government in the Centre. Earlier, the party had nominated Chaudhry Sarwar as Governor of Punjab and Asad Qaiser as the Speaker National Assembly.
