ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PTI chairman Imran Khan has proposed to give extension to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, saying that the appointment of the new army chief should be postponed till the formation of the new government.
In a statement, he said that the new government should elect the new army chief. "I am ready to talk on the elections."
The PTI chairman said that perhaps he would have sought pardon had he was given a chance to speak in the Islamabad High Court. "I am not anti-America," he added.
He said that there are no easy options before Pakistan and mountains of problems will appear in the coming days. "I have been in politics for the last 26 years and have never done an unconstitutional work," he added. "The country will continue to go into a quagmire as long as they remain in the government."
Imran Khan said that there is a flood on the one side while Pakistan is heading towards being defaulter. "The country's economy is going down fast. There will be no stability until political stability in the country," he maintained.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Imran Khan to appear in personal capacity in the contempt of the ECP and CEC case.
The PTI chairman could not submit his reply in the stipulated time. The ECP has issued a show-cause notice to Imran Khan. The ECP has declared the reply of PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhary and Asad Umar as unsatisfactory. They have also been summoned in personal capacity on September 27.
