One killed, Imran Khan among 10 injured in firing near PTI long march container

WAZIRABAD (92 News) – Ten people, including PTI chairman Imran Khan, were injured in firing near the container of the PTI long march near Wazirabad on Thursday.

According to sources, Imran Khan has been shot in the leg. Senator Faisal Javed, PTI leader Ahmed Chattha and Umar Dar are among the injured. Imran Khan's security guard Muhammad Farooq was also injured in the incident. All injured were shifted to Wazirabad Hospital. The sources said that a man, identified as Moazzam, was also killed in a stampede after the firing incident.

Former prime minister Imran Khan was shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital. He was immediately taken to the operation theatre. A four-member board of doctors has been constituted for the treatment of Imran Khan.

Dr Faisal Sultan said that Imran Khan had suffered injuries to both legs. "Some parts of the bullets hit in the legs are visible in the X-ray. The treatment is underway in the light of the MRI and CT scan report," he added.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi visited Shaukat Khanum Hospital to inquire after the health of Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested two people and shifted to an unknown location for investigation. The footage of the attackers is being obtained from the CCTV cameras installed along the route of the long march.
