Imran Khan should openly condemn May 9 incidents: President Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - President Arif Alvi has said that PTI chairman Imran Khan should openly condemn the May 9 incidents.

In an interview with a private TV channel on Thursday, he said that the government should take strict action against the elements involved in these incidents. "However, human rights should be kept in mind and there should be no torture during the action," he added.

President Arif Alvi said that the people involved in the May 9 incidents should be penalized as per law.

He clarified that he had not opposed the appointment of COAS Asim Munir. "I had stated that I would accept the army chief appointed by General Bajwa," he added.
