ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and likely new prime minster Imran Khan on Wednesday nominated MPA-elect Mehmood Khan as candidates for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s next chief minister. Mehmood Khan, who was elected from PK-9 Swat-VIII constituency of KP Assembly, will lead the KP assembly as the chief minister. Addressing newly elected members from Punjab during parliamentary party meeting, he has stressed the need for upholding merit in all sectors of Punjab. "We will have to adhere to the principle of merit as was done in the state of Madina by the Holy Prophet [PBUH]," he added. Imran Khan said that the real changes in Punjab and they have to fight battle of Panipat for people's rights. He said the ticket awarding process will be further improved. He said that work should be started immediately in the sectors, where they are weak. The PTI chief vowed to nominate best and corruption-free candidate for slot of Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM). He further added that the nominee would have a clean image while calling on all members to support the nominee. Khan vowed to depoliticize Punjab police and making it autonomous. Imran Khan assured to make awarding tickets process fair and transparent. He urged party leaders to start work for weak constituencies.
