Imran Khan vows to make Pakistan as Islamic Welfare State of Medina

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said that he envisioned to set up a Medina-like welfare state which will be worked on the principles of Holy Prophet (PBUH). In his first address to the nation as prime minister, Imran Khan said that Pakistan has to pay loan worth Rs28,000 billion, however, his government will trace out where this money have gone. He announced strategy and priorities of his government in his speech. The newly elected prime minister revealed his government’s economic agenda. Firstly, he thanked all workers who 22 years ago started with him in this movement and 'jihad'. "I never considered politics as a career or profession and wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state. Pakistan's has never face difficult situation as like now," he said. "Our debt has reached at Rs28, 000 billion today. We have to take loans to pay off the interests on our foreign debt.” The newly elected PM said, "Pakistan's Human Development Index reveals that the country is among the five nations in the world with the highest child mortality rate below the age of five and stunted growth for children. Every second Pakistani child is malnourished." Imran Khan said that the prime minister of Pakistan has 524 servants, 33 bullet-proof cars, helicopters, aeroplane, the PM house is on 11,000 Kanals. "If we do not change our direction we will head towards disaster. We need to change our mindset and think about the children who are out of school," he warned. He asked that who will resolve the water crisis, adding that Pakistan is No7 on the list of countries to be most affected by global warming. "My entire life people told me I could not be a cricketer, captain, make a hospital. My whole life I have learnt to fight. I wanted to live in my own house but was told by agencies that my life was under threat which is why I am living here," he said. Expense deduction He told that he would not live in the Prime Minister's House but in residence of the military secretary, use only two cars for personal. He said that he would auction the government's bullet-proof vehicles and return the money to the exchequer. He also informed that none of our governors will live in the Governor's House." We will make a research university in the PM House. We will make a taskforce under Dr Ishrat Hussain which reduce costs in the country," he added. Loans He termed that no nation can progress by taking loans which are meant to be only taken for short periods in difficult times. "We will use this saved money on the members of our society who have been left behind," he added. Law The prime minister mentioned that the rule of law stands supreme for a nation, every civilization peaking is because of this and keeping law above everyone. He advised that there needs to be progressive taxation which helps in providing basic amenities to people of low-income levels. TAX System Imran Khan stressed that the country is need to stand on his own feet, taking loans means losing your freedom and respect. He said that his aim to make this nation stand on its feet. He further said that the people of Pakistan have to sacrifice to become a great nation. The prime minister clarified that only 800,000 people out of 200 million pay taxes in Pakistan. He said that he would fix the FBR and assure the nation that he will be responsible for your taxes. He stressed the nation to pay taxes considering its 'jihad' and responsibility. Economic Crisis Presenting a solution to sort out economic crisis, Imran Khan said that If everyone started to pay taxes then the country will get out from deficit. "We will make a high-powered task force to recover money taken out of Pakistan illegally. The people doing this are the real criminals of this country. Never vote for a leader who has money out of the country," the prime minister hinted. Exports "We have to increase our exports. Our government will help export industries and our business advisory council will hold meetings with them. There will be an office in the PM Office to facilitate those wanting to do business in Pakistan." Overseas Pakistanis Imran Khan said that he would tell embassies to make the process easy for overseas Pakistanis and will create investment opportunities for overseas Pakistanis. He pointed out that the country has a shortage of dollars because out trade gap has increased significantly. He desired that overseas Pakistanis to deposit money in our banks and send remittances through banks. Corruption The PM assured that he would meet with the NAB chairman what help the bureau needs and will pass the whistleblower act to fix the matter of corruption. "We will fix the SECP. I have kept the Ministry of Interior because I want to monitor the money-laundering which takes place," he added. Justice system He said that the government have to meet the chief justice and fix issues pertaining to resolving pending cases. "Civil cases should not proceed beyond one year. We will bring a system for this. I want to request the chief justice to at least resolve pending cases of widows in the country," he added. Police Reform Imran Khan said that the federal government have reform in the police system as same like in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police system. He said that the PTI won the election only due to the reform in police of the KP. He told that Nasir Durrani will be given an advisory in the Punjab cabinet to fix the police in the province, adding that also work with the Sindh government to also do this. Education The prime minister warned that he would take strict action on cases of child abuse and to improve the state of government schools. He also said that the government will raise the standard of education in madrassa's as well. Hospital Imran Khan hoped to to improve the standard in government hospitals and introduce a health card across Pakistan.  Water He said that his government will resolve the water crisis because no one thought of the water crisis. He will make the ministry on water which will work towards resolving this crisis. Farmers He said that If the country needs to forward fast, however, the government needs to help farmers make money by reducing costs and increasing yield as well as there is a need for agricultural research to accomplish this. Civil Service Reform The PM observed that there is a need for civil service reforms. "Dr Ishrat will lead a committee for this purpose. I want to tell civil servants there will be no political interference from our government. We will give you respect. I want you to treat an ordinary Pakistani with respect when he comes to a government office. There will be a right to services act which will give bonuses to departments working efficiently and penalise those which are not," he told. Local Government System Imran Khan gave his policy and said that the government have to improve the local government system. Jobs He said that it is needed to create jobs for the youth, low-income housing, teach skills, saying that the government will provide youngsters with interest-free loans to start businesses. "Foreign employees working in Pakistan but our young ones can perform their duties better and our young also need of job." He wants to make sports grounds and parks because this is the right of our citizens. Forestation Tackling Pollution Imran Khan told about his policy to reduce the pollution and said that this is important for our future generations to plant trees for tackling pollution. He also stressed to start a campaign to clean our country. Tourism The PM said that there is massive potential for tourism in Pakistan. He will open four new resorts every year to promote tourism and would develop the beaches in Karachi and Gwadar. FATA He said that he would work to hold local government elections in FATA and the situation in FATA is dire and there is destruction there due to war. Balochistan He also said that the government in Balochistan will work towards addressing the grievances of the Baloch people. Foreign Policy imran Khan said that he have spoken to all of Pakistan's neighbours and improve relations with them. He pointed out that there is a need for peace and without it and would work to implement the National Action Plan. Zakat Revealing his vision, PM Imran Khan said that If the nation wants to move towards nation building, it should be needed to take encourage everyone to pay Zaqkat which will help others. A day earlier, Imran Khan has finalized the name of 20-member federal cabinet. According to the details issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry, the cabinet includes fifteen ministers and five advisors. Cabinet members will take oath at the President House in Islamabad on Monday. The cabinet has 10 ministries divided among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members while some of the ministries also went to PTI’s allies, the MQM-P, AML and PML-Q. On Saturday, third consecutive democratic transition stands completed with Imran Khan taking oath as 22nd prime minister of Pakistan. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath of office to the newly elected Prime Minister at a simple but impressive ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr this morning. Prime Minister Imran Khan was given the guard of honor after becoming the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan. Imran Khan, who took oath as prime minister of Pakistan, was received a guard of honour on his arrival at Prime Minister’s House by a contingent drawn from three services.
