Inam Ghani likely to be appointed as Sindh IGP

KARACHI (92 News) – Additional Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani is likely to be appointed as Sindh inspector general of Police (IGP). Officer Grade 21 Inam Ghani is currently posted as Additional IG (Operation) in Punjab. Ghani had also served as the director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The Sindh government sent the names of Sanaullah Abbasi and Inam Ghani to the federation, names of Ghulam Qadir Thabo, Kamran Fazal and Mushtaq Maher had already been sent. Earlier, the deadlock persists between the federal government and the Sindh government ove the appointment of new inspector general of police (IGP). According to the details garnered, the federal government rejected IG’s names summary of the Sindh government. The sources informed that the federal government suggested three new names for the post of IGP Sindh. The names including have been sent to the provincial government. The names of Frontier Constabulary (FC) Chief Commandant Moazzam Jah Ansari, former IG Punjab Muhammad Tahir and Additional IG Punjab Establishment Capt (retd) Ahmad Latif are included in the summary sent by the federal government. Earlier, in appointment of new IGP Sindh, the PPP’s provincial government has penned a letter to the Establishment Division and proposed the names of three officers to pick one of them for the post. The names of Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Mushtaq Mahar, and Kamran Afzal have been recommended for the post in the letter. The names have been proposed by the Sindh government after consultation with the federal government. The letter was sent to the Establishment Division through Chief Secretary Sindh.
