Incessant rain inundates low-lying areas, disrupts power system in Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) – Incessant rain inundated several low-lying areas in the city on Thursday. Over 130 feeders tripped due to the rain and gale, disrupting the power system. As a result, the power supply was suspended in Green Town, Muslim Town, Ichhra, Samanabad, Model Town, Town Ship, Harbanspura, Batapur, Shalamar, Sabzazar, Thokar Niaz Beg, Ravi Road, Bund Road, Johar Town and Wapda Town. The power lines also broke due to falling of trees in several areas. A LESCO spokesman warned the people not to touch a power switch bare-footed. He said that work on restoring the supply would start after stopping of the rain.
